Jets answer back, tie score at 14 before end of first quarter

The Jets continue to have issues getting replays near the end zone to go their way, but they’ve still draw even with the Chiefs before the end of the first quarter.

Josh McCown plunged into the end zone from a yard out a play after Jets coach Todd Bowles unsuccessfully challenged a ruling that the quarterback was down short of a touchdown. That may not have been a wise use of the challenge given that the Jets would get a redo on the down after linebacker Justin Houston was flagged for being offside, but there was merit to Bowles’ view and fans still wound up happy at the Meadowlands with the Jets tying the score at 14.

Bilal Powell scored on a one-yard run to get the first Jets points of the day. His score came after Elijah McGuire‘s touchdown run was overturned by a replay review that found he was out of bounds just shy of six points.

The Chiefs opened the game with touchdowns on their first two drives, but their last two possessions have ended with punts that opened the door for the Jets to climb back into the game.

  1. I still think Bowles should be fired, it depends on what he benched Lee for which we will find out after the game. Trashing your best players like Robby Anderson and Lee is no way to build the morale of the team the comments on Hackenberg and Petty are another alarming thing.. meanwhile he enshrinines guys like McCown and Wilkerson who have been awful and lost games for us (ignore McCown’s stats, his completion percentage is padded, he isn’t good).

I don’t want to hear how good this guy is because he coached an Arizona defense with loaded talent a few years ago, he’s taken a Jets defense that has ranked top 10 for the last 6-8 years and made them mediocre while still having more than enough talent. If Lee missed a meeting or he really was inactive for making a choke sign at Cam Newton after a sack yet Wilkerson still gets to play despite being a complete cancer he’s gotta go. This team needs an attitude and Bowles is ruining it with his careless and bland attitude.

  2. That first drive was classic Buffalo, you could just sense the fan boys having visions of Super Bowls in their dreams and then all of a sudden it’s like, oh ya, we’re Buffalo.

  3. Tyreek Hill- long, Kelsey- eight-yard rout, Hunt- dump off man. Every play. I could coach this offense from my couch while guzzling cans of beer than Reid does on the sideline with his stupid clipboard.
