Which games were the best games? Chris Simms and yours truly picked the best games of the year, PFT Live draft-style, during Friday’s show.

  1. New England at Pittsburgh. It was a great game. It was almost the Pats who were embarrassed as Pgh drove the field in the final 30 seconds and only lost on a ref’s call.

Roethlisberger put up 500+ passing yards on the Lombardi favorite.

  2. i dont know if it was the best, but that snow game up in buffalo was the most unique, and entertaining.

  3. Pats embarrassing Pitt again..No doubt.

I think picking a game your team need the refs to bail them out after you bragged about them hanging 40 on the Steelers…..now that’s embarrassing.

Steelers beating the Pat’s was the best.

  4. I think the 41-38 Seattle victory over Houston and the Rams over Niners 41-39 on Thurs night week 3 were the top 2.

    You mean 281 yards??

I didn’t realize that the question was “what was your favorite game from 2011”, which was the last time that the Steelers beat the Patriots

  7. Pats embarrassing Pitt again..No doubt.

Getting an overturn call to win a game is far from embarrassing. Everyone knows the Steelers won that game. NE will see the definition of embarrassment in January.

  8. there was a Thursday night game mid season….looked like it was going to be the usual ugly Thursday night game, but it turned out to be a great game to watch. I can’t remember the teams, but it was a surprise the game was so fun to watch.

    that’s my choice.

The Steelers didn’t lose that game because of the refs. They lost that game because they lost their composure.

  10. Patriots versus Steelers. Steelers lost because they mismanaged their opportunity, and the Patriots made the plays. The refs had nothing to do with it. The dude dropped the ball. The rule is the rule.

Throwing a stupid interception to lose a game, however, is embarrassing.

I think constantly trolling the Steelers with your biased trite syncopathetic comments is embarrassing.

The Steelers beat the Pats but lost to Riveron……as did two other teams.

  13. The recent Patriots\Steelers game was the best game except for the no call on the flagrant offensive pass interference where Martavis Bryant’s “touchdown” handed the Steelers the undeserved 17-10 lead going into halftime.

Must be a new rule that allows players to push off as long as they keep pushing during the entire play while only using one hand the make the catch.

  14. Panthers-Patriots in week 4. If the Panthers would have lost, the Patriots would already have the #1 seed locked up, and this week’s Panthers/Falcons game would have been the win or go home game the NFL was looking for in week 17.

For the King of Trolls to call out someone else for trolling is hilarious.

The Steelers had two plays after the reversal. After they blew the first one, they should have kicked a field goal and gone to overtime, but they decided to run a play that no one knew about, and threw an interception to end the game.

Please check out the holding by the tight end on the first Pat’s td…….plus only two Pat’s penalties for the game…
    Really?

  17. Saints losing to Falcons was the best Thursday nite game. Falcons overcame 3 Matt Ryan interceptions. Keanu neal knocked Kamara and Michael Thomas out the game

  18. Steelers losing to the Patriots every week in their heads is my favorite. Hey look — flea flicker!

  19. Being completely objective… that was not a catch Steeler fan. Sorry. No control when it crossed, ball clearly moved on the ground, that is not a catch in this league 10 times out of 10. Not saying it’s a good rule but it’s not a catch by rule.

    Better luck next time 🙂

And why WAS that flag picked up anyway? Hmmm….

  21. Game of the year has to be the Texans at Seahawks where Deshaun Watson lit up the then-intact Legion of Boom like few had before. Wow – what an impressive performance!

Meltdown of the year was NE at Pittsburgh. i’m not sure you guys remember this, but the Steelers an 8-pt lead in the 4th they coughed up, and then a can’t miss chance to win or tie at the end of the game that they regurgitated all over themselves. It was hilarious!

Jags Seahawks. I know it wasn’t widely seen and it ended ugly, but that was one hell of a ballgame.

Why because Bortles actually threw a few TD’s against a team with no running game or DB’s? But what happened against the 49er’s loss, an 5-10 team? Let’s see how the Jag’s handle legit teams in the playoffs. Bragging about beating a beatup Seattle team sounds like you’re desperate to brag about winning a home team against a bad team.

I was at that game. Not especially well played on either side, but Cam was a beast and the Patriots couldn’t stop him. That’s historically been one of the toughest match-ups for NE – most of the game have been down to the wire with the outcomes hinging on 1 play or 1 call.

  24. Meh, take your pick…

Pats 36 Texans 33: Watson and Brady dual it out. the Pats over come two 4th quarter scoring drives by Watson and Brady tosses the game winner in the final seconds.

Panthers 33 Pats 30: Another QB dual. Brady and the Pats overcome a 14 point deficit in the 4th quarter only to see Newton answer with a game winning drive as time expires.

Pats 27 Steelers 24: Steelers talk, Brady leads 4th quarter game winning drive, Steelers gag, Steelers and their fans cry. Wash, rinse, repeat.

  25. As a Sox fan, I can see why people are annoyed by Pats fans. We have become the Yankees fan base of football its sad. Pats didn’t embarrass them as some may claim (A 3 point victory is a nailbiter) but Patriots/Steelers was the game of the year and it was not a catch! I overpaid for tickets and drove 6+ hours in snow but it was worth it. Could be the best game I will ever see live.

  26. All season long we heard about what a crap season this was. Looking back, there were quite a few really great nail biters. My personal fav we NE Pitt. No matter ow that ended it was a classic.
I just wish some drooling fools could act like they adult they expect others to be and get over this ref thing. There were missed/bad calls on both sides that whole game. To focus on one play that was properly overturned is absurd. Any number of calls could have been made/not made along the way to change the final outcome.

That INT ranks right up there with the Butt Fumble and the Colts fake punt as among the most inept in league history. Crunch time in an mportant game your coach has been talking about for months and you run a play where only 2 of the 11 guys on the field actually know the call. You can’t make this stuff up!

  28. In no particular order:
Oakland vs Kansas City 31-30 – 4 plays with no time left on the clock.

Seattle vs Houston 41-38 – Watson and Wilson combine for 854 yards passing.

    ANY game Deshaun Watson played.

Washington’s melt down vs the Saints 34-31 – watching the Saints come back down 15 with less than 5 mins to play.

Rams vs Eagles 35-43 – Should have ended 35-37 without the garbage TD at the end.

Ravens vs Steelers 38-39 – NFL coaches take note, this is why you run the ball up in the 4th quarter.

Patriots vs Steelers 27-24 – The non-catch, catch.

Colts vs Bills 7-13 – As someone pointed out above, not that the game was an all time great, but the snow made it extremely fun to watch.

  29. Rams vs Eagles knocking Wentz out but losing even with nick foles taking over Great game Rams were so close so many times but Wentz showed just how elusive he was. Patriots vs Pittsburgh was a nail biter as well but I still think Rams and Eagles game had me on the edge of my seat longer
