PALMER WILL MISS STEELERS GAME, TOO

As a doctor who typically works on baseball players tries to figure out the problem with the throwing elbow of Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, the franchise quarterback for the 0-6 franchise will miss another game.
Per the AP, Palmer won’t play on Sunday when the Bengals host the Steelers.  The goal will be to give Palmer another week to rest his arm.
Hey, maybe the Bengals should call the Lions about Jon Kitna.  When the alternative is Ryan Fitzpatrick, bringing Kitna back to town might be a smart move.
And, in the end, it could be the difference between 1-15 and 3-13.

  1. At this point wouldn’t you rather be 1-15 and ensure that you get the best player out there in the draft?

    Sad but true.

  3. “And, in the end, it could be the difference between 1-15 and 3-13.”
    Oh!! Zip Zot ZING!!!

  4. What have we Bengals’ fans done to deserve Mike Brown and the injuries? God must hate us.

  5. If there was any season left to save for the Bengals I’d say it could be a good move.
But there isn’t, so why bother?

  6. you say it jokingly… but after seeing Fitzpatrick twice now, as bad as Kitna is I think it’s something the Bengals should really think about… he somewhat knows the offense and knows the receivers, and if Carson is gonna miss a significant amount of time i think they seriously should trade for him (shouldn’t take much at all)…. you say what’s the difference between 1-15 & 3-13??? not much… but there is a HUGE difference between 0-16 & 3-13!!! cuz i don’t see the Bengals beating anyone with Fitzpatrick in!!!

  7. How will the Bengals work with the 1st draft pick? They won’t pay the money for a contract with them…

  8. WELL THE BENGALS APPEAR TO BE PLAYING HARD.
the lions had a relapse sunday and will get back to not playing hard shortly.

  9. Palmer’s injury reporting sounds like Harrison’s last season. Week to week but he never comes back.

  10. The Bengals are done.
Carson will go the IR for Tommy John surgery, Chad will explode, meltdown, and demand a trade (too bad it won’t happen this team could really use some draft picks too… Oh wait they can’t drat talent so those won’t help either). Come next year they won’t pony up to keep TJ and he’ll walk.
So in ’09 the Bengals will have the same crappy O line that busted Carson’s nose and elbow, A very unhappy Chad, no TJ, a serious mess at RB (see: Benson, Cedric, Perry, Chris, Watson, Kenny), and a good quaterback with a surgically repaired knee and elbow that is aging much too fast due to getting pounded week in and week out.
Maybe Keith Rivers can play O next year?

    hahah. Nice one.

  12. At this point it doesnt really matter for cinnci plus palmer hasnt been the same quaterback since that knee injury a couple years back. Im not even sure i would rank him in the top ten in the league anymore.

  13. Remember when Palmer was the “next great QB”? The guy is a joke. Throws a pretty ball, and it ends there. Ben Roetlisberger is the best QB not named P.Manning or T.Brady….

  14. This Steelers fan hopes that Palmer can get back on the field soon with a good elbow. Sure, I’ll take Big Ben over Palmer. But, I still have a ton of respect for Palmer. A class act with an organization that could use a lot more.
FWIW, I would not mind to see Marvin Lewis back on the Steelers coaching staff. Lewis can take over for Lebeau when he retires.

What are you smoking? Let’s see . . . Rivers, Eli Manning, Romo. Cutler, are just the first four that come to mind who would rank above Big Ben. Ben does a nice imitation of a pigeon roost – elite QB, I don’t think so!

Nice try. With the possible exception of Eli none of those are close. Statistically, intangibles, what they eat for breakfast, anyway you want to justify it.
