TEXANS’ PITTMAN TESTED POSITIVE, WILL APPEAL

As leaks continue to come out about the NFL players who could face suspensions in connection with the NFL’s policy on steroids and related substances, one player has already said through his lawyer that he’s ready to appeal. Texans long snapper Bryan Pittman, one of a number of players who have hired attorney David Cornwell, says he will appeal and states emphatically that he didn’t use steroids. “Bryan did everything humanly possible to comply with the NFL steroid policy, including obtaining doctor’s written authorization to take weight loss medication,” Cornwell said. “He did not use steroids.” It’s not clear how many NFL players are currently facing suspensions. The number originally cited by Josina Anderson of Fox 31 in Denver was six to 10, but ESPN later said it was more than 10 and maybe more than 15. Now ESPN has started reporting six to 10. The only thing we know for sure is that we’ll keep getting news in the form of sporadic anonymous leaks by people who are violating league confidentiality policies for their own unknown reasons.
