CARSON PALMER OUT AT LEAST ONE MORE WEEK

Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said today that he doesn’t expect Carson Palmer to practice this week or play on Sunday.
That means Ryan Fitzpatrick will make his sixth start of the season against the Eagles.
Per Bengals.com, Palmer was scheduled last week to meet with doctors in Los Angeles during the bye week. Palmer has missed most of the season with an injured throwing elbow.
Although the Bengals have avoided saying Palmer is out for the season, it’s hard to see why they would bring him back late in the year to risk further injury after the Bengals have already been eliminated from playoff contention. Whether the Bengals say so or not, with each passing week it looks more like Fitzpatrick is their starter for the rest of 2008.

  1. Carson Palmer f’d my fantasy season! I’m still looking for a QB. Just traded for Trent Edwards…big mistake. I blame Palmer. I have gone through the basement, O’Sullivan, Shaun Hill, Marc Bulger, Joe Flacco, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and now Edwards. Thanks, Palmer you bum.

  2. *sigh* I guess it’s finally time to drop him from my fantasy roster….
    Oh cool Culpepper is available!!

  3. This guy seriously need to go straight to IR. He hasn’t been the same since his knee was dismantled in the ’05 playoffs. Everyone else on the Bengals seems to have taken the year off. Carson should follow suit.

    Because they’re the Bungles!!

  5. The best thing Carson could do is wait until mini camp next year to decide that he needs surgery (ala Chad Ocho Cinco this past year). This would effectively derail Mike Brown’s drive to the playoffs in 2009. Just kidding. Mike doesn’t have any plans for the playoffs…

  6. Every time I hear this kids name mentioned, I think of the old joke about the two gay Irish guys – Ryan Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzryan.

  7. Can anyone explain to me why he hasn’t gotten surgery yet?! I mean, give me an effing break. This is ricockulous.

  8. @If its Brown flush it down
Well since he’s still seeing all kinds of doctors, one reason might be that they don’t know what to fix. But that just makes it worse, because if the best sportsdoctor don’t know what to do, there might be a little more than the rest of the season at risk.
