Last week Buccaneers offensive lineman Jeremy Trueblood said NFL referees have attitude problems. But today he found out that even when the referees give him a break, the league office won’t. Trueblood has been fined $7,500 for grabbing an opponent’s facemask and holding on even after the play was over against the Lions on Sunday. The fine comes even though Trueblood did not get flagged on the play. After the game, Trueblood seemed to know he’d have a fine coming his way, saying, “I can’t catch a break.” This is Trueblood’s fourth fine this season: He was previously fined $7,500 for throwing his helmet against the Cowboys, fined $5,000 for punching Bears defensive end Adewale Ogunleye and fined $5,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty against the Vikings.
