WITTEN LABELED A "RAT" AND A "SNITCH" BY SOME COWBOYS

Confirming in a roundabout way our recent report that some folks in the Cowboys locker room believe that tight end Jason Witten was one of the sources for Ed Werder’s recent story regarding Terrell Owens’ supposed belief that Witten and quarterback Tony Romo have had secret meetings aimed at getting the ball more to Witten and less to Owens, Jay Glazer of FOX reports that some members of the team are calling Witten a “rat” and a “snitch” behind his back.
“[Witten is] one of the most professional guys on our team and now he has to deal with this?” a team source told Glazer.  “It’s bad.  It’s gotten really bad and it’s definitely bothering him.  Not so much that T.O. is ticked or saying things about him but the fact that other guys on offense look at [Witten] like he’s a snitch.  It’s in his head.”
As we reported on Friday, Cowboys center Andre Gurode and receiver Roy Williams called out Witten in a team meeting regarding their belief that Witten went public with private matters, as the song “Back Stabbers” played in the background.
Another source told Glazer that coach Wade Phillips made the situation worse by telling the players that the media is trying to make T.O. look bad, suggesting that Owens is a victim in all of this.

  1. Sounds more like a bunch of whiney ass little girls in a schoolyard than an NFL team, what an embarrassment.

  2. If Witten had just gone on the record with his information T.O. couldn’t complain. I mean, he’s constantly bitching publicly about the offense and how he doesn’t always have the ball in his hands. If Witten had just made his comments on the record, T.O. wouldn’t have any room to complain.

  3. so in other words it’s the black players ganging up on the white player? interesting……

  4. The icing on the cake would be a Cowboys win tonight fueled by a big game for #81! Then the boys (All but two of them, anyway) will rally around their new leader! Jerry will be singing his praises all week! T.O. will have more input on playcalling! Yes!!!

  5. This is just the real-life exprieence T.O. can draw upon as inspiration for his follow up to “T.O. Learns To Share”

  6. This story would be a lot more credible if the words “Jay Glazer” weren’t tattooed all over it. The guy does absolutely no fact checking before running with some of his “breaking news.”

  7. Classic. Says a lot about the team. Witten should take the next train outta town. I’m sure other teams would love to have him. Also this confirms to me that TO is secretly a woman.

  8. Oooooooooooooooohhhhhhh.
    Nasty Names.
    Accusations to a Soundtrack.
I even heard that T.O. and Witten had a dust up
in the locker room this week.
Just in time to derail that playoff push in Dallas, too.
I am lovin’ every minute of it!
The center of all this is T.O. of course. What’s that he said:
“If it looks like a rat, and sounds like a rat, then it’s a rat!”
    Hahahahahahaaahahahahaaaaaa………..

  9. This stuff couldn’t be more funny and happen to a better organiziation. Hire shit, and all you get is nothing but a steamy shit sandwich. Go job, ole’ yeller-teeth skeletor!

  10. Coming up in week 16: T.O. spray paints “SLUT” on Witten’s locker and Roy E. Williams taunts Tony Romo to tears for not wearing cool enough shoes.

  11. The bitchy MF’er SHE-O is being labeled the “victim” in this? Once again–locker room divided. Pattern, pattern, pattern. Thanks Jerry. Good luck keeping that billion dollar stadium filled in this economy when the team tanks.

  12. Listen. All you guys who are celebrating the Cowbitches implosion need to hold off just a little while longer or you will jinx the whole thing. This situation is all very promissing, but they’re still in the playoff hunt. We mustn’t actually celebrate until they’ve either officially missed the playoffs or they’re one and done (again). Then it will be time for balloons and cigars…oh yes, then it will be time!

  13. Clearly, this is all Witten’s fault. Nothing in T.O.’s past suggests he is the common denominator in numerous problems with multiple teams, players, and….wait, what?

  14. It’s out of control in Big “D”… and before the big game tonight. Someone with a big set of balls needs to get control of the team, and stop with the bitching and whining that is going on, if they are to have a chance to get to the playoffs.
Hell, they’ll probably implode tonight on TV… and Jerrah will shit his pants (and show up on the sidelines) to show who’s in “control” of his team…

  15. Another source told Glazer that coach Wade Phillips made the situation worse by telling the players that the media is trying to make T.O. look bad…
Actually, Phillips said, “Jerry told me to tell you guys that the media is out to get TO.”

  16. Funny how T.O. always finds himself right in the middle of team turmoil and yet again there are those ready to defend T.O. and call him a “victim.”
In the meantime, Eagles fans like me are sitting back laughing, because we knew this would happen in Dallas eventually.

  17. Maybe we can just combine “rat” and “snitch” and call him Jason “Snatch” Witten.
It’ll be up to each of us as individuals to decide whether or not his nickname refers to his abilities as a receiver.

  18. So, no one is saying that what Witten said is a lie, they’re just calling Witten out for pointing it out to the media.
Not too many bright bulbs in that room.
They so want to be in TO’s click that they don’t care that he is destroying their team. This goes for Jerry Jones as well. He wants to make sure that Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders and now TO still think that he’s cool.

  19. Im in no way shape or form excusing TOs crap cuz i do believe he has a serious chemical imbalance but when i lived with my mom (Cowboys) family business was FAMILY BUSINESS and my mother would slap the living crap out of me if I ran to the neighbors and told them whats going on in between the her walls…And its funny how if the same players going agreeing with TO were against him they would be right no questions asked…Thats just my 2 cents

Unfortunately, I could see them getting the win tonight. I think the Giants are a much different team without Plaxico… The defense is not as stretched and that’ll tighten everything up. And they don’t have Jacobs either.
I could see the Cowboys coming out with an “us vs the world” attitude and winning this one. But if I knew anything I’d be in Vegas, so take it with a grain of salt.

  21. So, Roy Williams is supporting another troublemaker? Jerry, you asked for this. Even Parcell’s couldn’t control that diva. And now you’ve added another one. Witten needs to get out of town if his contract will let him. Any sane player should. Glad to hear the fans are booing T.O.

  22. Roy Williams called out Witten? Are you kidding me? Shouldn’t he catch a pass first before he starts calling out pro-bowlers?

    Exactly my thought.
Roy William has his tongue right under TO’s scrotum.

  24. I keep wondering why Roy Williams has not caught more criticism for his lack luster play…tell me again why he’s being paid millions?
He should shut the hell up and learn the offense, or do whatever the hell he needs to do to become a real playmaker on that team.
What a joke…glorified Martz receiver who is not worth the contract given him…Lions finally did something right.
