COLTS’ DEFENSIVE TACKLE BUSTED

Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Darrell Reid was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge early Sunday morning after allegedly trying to use his NFL status to gain entry for himself and his entourage into Club Oxygen, WTHR-TV reports, per Scout.com. According to a police report, Reid tried to enter a packed Indianapolis club at roughly 2:00 a.m. this morning, telling security officers he should be let into the club, which was at capacity, because he plays for the Colts. Police reportedly requested that Reid and his friends leave the area several times. Reid is no stranger to offseason trouble. Last March, he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of suspicion of possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana, obstruction and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Reid is an unrestricted free agent, so this latest incident could ultimately lead to him having to find a new NFL employer and a new batch of nightclubs to try to barge into. This incident reminds me of an obscure, slightly funny Vince Vaughn gangster movie called Made, where he tries to get into an exclusive nightclub and isn’t on the “list.” (It also brings to mind Night at the Roxbury.) On another note, I didn’t even know they had clubs in Indianapolis. [Editor’s note: That last crack represents the opinion of Aaron Wilson only, and is not necessarily indicative of the views of ProFootballTalk.com. Since Wilson primarily writes for a Baltimore-area publication, we assume that he’s still pissed about the fact that Indy stole the Colts.]
