DUCKETT NOT IN 49ERS’ PLANS

San Francisco 49ers free agent offensive tackle Damane Duckett isn’t likely to return for next season, according to Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. A restricted free agent, Duckett wasn’t extended a qualifying offer from 49ers management prior to the free agent signing period, which makes him an unrestricted free agent. Duckett spent last season on injured reserve due to knee cartilage problems. According to his agent, Duckett is healthy again. Duckett has played on the defensive line in the past, but is concentrating on offensive tackle these days. In five NFL seasons, the former East Carolina player has played for the 49ers, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers. He has played in 20 games with one start.
