CHRIS CARR OFFICIALLY SIGNS WITH RAVENS

A league source tells us that it’s official — cornerback/kick returner Chris Carr has signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Carr, who spent 2008 with the Titans after coming from the Raiders, will likely fill the void created by the departure of safety Jim Leonhard, last season’s primary kick returner.
Carr also provides depth to a secondary that won’t have Chris McAlister or Samari Rolle in 2009.
The Titans now need a return specialist.  They recently hosted Mark Jones of the Panthers.

  1. He’s a steady kick returner that will always give you a good return average. He’ll never take one all the way though.

  2. anything would be an improvement over Yamon Figurs who is fast but doesn’t like contact. this is another nice pick up by Ozzie. Not glitzy, not showy, but will improve the team as a KR, PR and nickel or dime back.

  3. Fabian Washington and now Chris Carr? Looks like the Ravens really liked the Raiders secondary of 2005-2007.

IMO they’re going to take a good hard look at Derrick Williams in the draft. They need receiver help big time and now a KR and D.Will is one of the more dynamic special teamers in the draft.
It’d kill me to see him go to Tennessee, but I’d like to see him have an opportunity right away.

  5. The sportscaster on channel 2 news in Bawlmer gave PFT a shoutout for this information in his report. Neato.

  6. Carr is a nice kick returner. He started stronger than he finished in Oakland, but he’s got good hands and he’s not a pussy. He also provides decent depth in the secondary, and makes all of us potato heads proud.
