REPORT: RAIDERS’ CORNELL GREEN BEAT WOMAN WITH MOP HANDLE

Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Cornell Green was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in Tampa, Fla., after beating the mother of his two children with an aluminum mop handle, according to an Associated Press report published in the Tampa Tribune. Green was reportedly arrested while waiting to board an airplane to Oakland on Saturday. The 32-year-old former Tampa Bay Buccaneers lineman is being held without bail, according to jail records. According to police, Green allegedly “slammed” Teriyonal Flowers against a wall before hitting her with the mop handle at least once on the right arm at their home in Tampa. Green left the scene following the domestic incident, but police became aware of his plans to catch a flight and arrested him at Tampa International Airport. According to NFL.com, Green started every game last season for the Raiders. The former University of Central Florida player has previous stints with the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.
