NFL Issues A Statement On Drug Rumors

Responding to the report that claims several prospects tested positive for marijuana or steroids at the Scouting Combine, the NFL has issued a statement emphasizing that none of the 32 teams or the league office have been informed of the drug test results yet.
Here is the full statement from the league office:
“Neither the 32 clubs nor the league office know the results of drug or steroid tests taken at the 2009 Combine.  The independent medical advisors who administer the tests have notified in writing those players and only those players who tested positive at the Combine.
“Unfortunately, rumors about draft eligible players, including rumors about test results, begin to circulate every year at this time.  Many of these rumors are circulated for self-serving reasons and they are terribly unfair to the players and their families.”, a web site unaffiliated with the league, reported that USC linebackers Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing tested positive for steroids and that Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji, Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis, University of Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin and UTEP kicker Jose Martinez tested positive for marijuana. previously reported that Raji tested positive for marijuana.
USC coach Pete Carroll denied the report regarding the former Trojan linebackers, as did the agents for Davis and Matthews in separate statements released to us today.

  1. if the steroids part is true, then what happens to these players? they’re not in the nfl yet so do they get in any kind of trouble?
And as far as the marijuana… who gives a shit? LOL these kids are coming out of college you really think its a big deal if they smoked a while before going to the NFL?

  2. Can they get in to trouble about the steroids since they’re not in the NFL yet? I’m sure they’ll still get drafted….
About the smoking, who cares LOL… these kids are coming out of college what do you expect?

  3. How dumb must a person be to test positive for marijuana when you KNOW youre going to be tested at the biggest job interview you’ll ever have?
Oh, nevermind, I forgot it really doesn’t matter. Are any of those guys really going to not be drafted all of a sudden because of this “revelation”?
    next issue.

  4. NFL players deny smoking weed.
    What a scoop.
    And Pete Carrol denies everything.

  5. I hate to say this a Miami Dolphin fan, but I think this could be the work of Bill Parcells. Other than the kicker every player is some one they would be targeting, Could he be trying to make one of them fall to pick #25?

  6. I guess pete is tasting their uring to make sure its clean or what? I would not be suprised if he does, the way he acted like a scorned lover when Sanchez decided to go pro. What a DOUCHE!
