Jenkins Will Visit The Jets

As the various NFL teams continue to do their due diligence in advance of the 2009 draft, the New York Jets plan to get better acquainted with one of the top defensive backs in the pool.
According to Albert Breer of, Ohio State’s Malcolm Jenkins — a New Jersey native — will visit with the Jets on Thursday.
He already has visited the Saints and Broncos.  Next week, he’ll visit the Pats and work out for the Browns.
Cleveland holds the fifth overall pick; Jenkins arguably would be a reach in that spot, especially since his relatively slow time in the 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine could make him better suited to playing safety.
It’s unlikely that Jenkins will still be on the board when the Jets’ first pick in the draft, the seventeenth overall, is on the clock.
The Jets used a first-round pick two years ago on Darrelle Revis, who quickly has become one of the best corners in the AFC.
