Andre Brown Climbing Into Second Round

North Carolina State running back Andre Brown is approaching second-round status after initially being projected as a third-round draft pick, according to a league source.
Brown has visited the Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers, Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. A Baltimore native, Brown attended the Ravens’ local prospect day.
The 6’0, 224-pounder has also conducted private workouts with the Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brown ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine to rank as the fourth-fastest running back overall, registering a 37-inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 24 times.
Brown rushed for 2,403 career yards and 21 touchdowns, averaging 4.8 yards per carry.

  1. Andre Brown is from Greenville, NC. ECU was so upset that he didn’t commit there and went to rival NCSU.

  2. No one is climbing anywhere. He’ll be a second round pick when he gets drafted in the second round. If he gets drafted in the third, then he’s a third rounder, etc. Until the actual draft happens none of these rankings mean anything.

  3. Brown was born in Baltimore and his mother still lives there, but he moved to Greenville, N.C. as a high school freshman. He still counts as a Baltimore native for the NFL’s purpose of local visits.

  4. Why would the Panthers waste a private workout on a running back, when there is no way they would take one in the 2nd or 3rd round when they have 2 1st round studs on the roster.
