Oliver Ross Returns To Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals, pressed a bit snugly against the salary cap before the release of running back Edgerrin James, have begun to spend some of the $5 million that came available after James was cut by bringing back a guy who first signed with the Cardinals a year before Edgerrin first arrived.
The Cardinals have announced the return of tackle Oliver Ross, who signed a one-year deal.
Ross came to the Cardinals in 2005 after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Steelers.  He appeared in 23 games with 17 starts over two seasons in Arizona.
In 2007, Ross landed on injured reserve.  In 2008, he signed with the Patriots, but again ended up on IR.
Ross participated in the team’s recent minicamp on a tryout basis.  The Cardinals apparently liked what they saw; Ross is back on the team.
