Hall Pleads Guilty To Reduced Charge In DUI Case

Cincinnati Bengals starting cornerback Leon Hall agreed to a plea bargain in his DUI case today, pleading guilty to reckless operation of a vehicle, according to Steve Kemme of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Per the report, Hall will be required to spend three days in a residential driver intervention program, pay a $250 fine, donate $500 to the USO, and serve 64 hours of community service.
The judge issued Hall a 30-day suspended jail sentence, but just ordered that he spend three days in the driver intervention program.
Hall’s lawyer, Ed Perry, said that the former first-round draft pick was driving home late at night because his pregant wife was going into labor and gave birth later that day.
According to a police report, Hall blew a 0.149 on a Breathalyzer when he was arrested in April.
Hall declined to comment to reporters after the hearing.
There’s a video link here that shows Hall performing a field sobriety test after being pulled over.

  1. would love to know if the bum’s wife actually went into labor that day. check the birth records Florio..its not like theres any actual football news today anyway.

  2. Alright, so 0.15 is basically double the limit… his baby was about to be born! Next time he’ll probably call a cab. Cincy has a long line of trouble-makers always on the wrong side of the law, but I don’t really think this one counts. Just sayin’…

  3. We will see what happens with Goodell now.
I would rather have the faith that this will be the only problem
that the Bengals have with the law, but with some crazies like
Tank Johnson and Chris Henry only time will tell.

  4. Another Bengal with a suspended jail sentence.
Wouldn’t be the offseason without it.

  5. AdamF: Yes his wife did have a baby around 7AM that morning. A little leg work on your own part would have found that on a cincy news website before calling the guy a bum. This was his first off-field offense. Yeah he made a big mistake but his wife was going into labor so I’m sure he did the first thing that came to mind. I probably would have done the same before thinking of a taxi. I’m not condoning his actions but he’s one of our good ones and had a damn good reason to be rushing home. You guys act like these guys aren’t like the rest of us. I guarantee 80% of the guys on this website have driven home after a night at the bar or out with buddies when they shouldn’t have. Now I can understand if this guy had a wrap sheet like Chris Henry but he doesn’t. He’s a good guy who was worried about his wife going into labor. Get off his back.

  6. How many months pregnant was his wife? If she was 8 or more why the hell is he out drinking anyway?
The judicial system is a joke. If you have money, you get a slap on the wrist. Bottom line.
