Wilfork Skipping Organized Team Activity

There’s a massive veteran presence missing from the middle of the New England Patriots’ defense, one that weighs roughly 325 pounds. Of course, we’re referring to imposing nose guard Vince Wilfork, the absentee defensive lineman who’s skipping the Patriots’ voluntary Organized Team Activity session today, per Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe. According to Reiss, via his Twitter account, there was no sign of Wilfork at the workouts. Wilfork is entering the final year of his contract and, during offseason interviews, has alternatedly griped and preached patience about his unresolved future. At this point, there have been no contract negotiations. In five NFL seasons, Wilfork has registered 260 career tackles and 7 1/2 sacks. Last season, he posted 66 tackles and two sacks.
