Rams, Broncos Place Waiver Claims on Renardo Foster

The St. Louis Rams and the Denver Broncos have both placed waiver claims on former Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Renardo Foster, according to two league sources. Under the NFL waiver system, Foster, 24, would be awarded to the Rams by Friday afternoon unless the Detroit Lions decide to put in a claim. Foster was cut by the Falcons one day after Atlanta signed fifth-round offensive tackle Garrett Reynolds. Foster, a 6'7,” 340-pound former All-Big East Conference lineman from Louisville, started two games as a rookie with the Falcons in 2007 before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. Foster held up against New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith as a rookie, not allowing any sacks.
