Former Viking in trouble with the law

Former Vikings receiver Hassan Jones, who wore No. 84 in the Metrodome long before Randy Moss arrived on the scene, has something else in common with Mr. Moss.

Jones is on the wrong side of the law.

He faces charges of aggravated assault and felony battery after threatening to do the “Hassan chop” on his wife and adult daughter with a Big Bertha (product placement!) golf club.

Classy.

He also is charged with dragging his daughter on concrete, grabbing her by the throat, and sitting on her.

Extra classy.

Jones spent seven years with the Vikings (1986-92) and one with the Chiefs (1993).

It’s not his first run-in with the law. He pleaded no contest to a charge of domestic battery in 1996, and he was charged with drunk driving in 2006.
