It only took one practice for training camp 2009 to claim its first victim.
Bills running back Justise Hairston is expected to miss the season after sustaining a knee injury in Buffalo’s first practice Saturday.
“That was so disappointing for the young man in literally a walk through and it was so freakish,” coach Dick Jauron said Sunday. “It involved no contact at all.”
Hairston was a sixth-round pick of New England in 2007, but had previously failed to make a team’s active roster. He also spent time with the Colts.
The Bills suffered another injury on their first day, albeit a minor one. Defensive tackle Marcus Stroud is expected to miss the next 5-7 days of camp with a hamstring injury.
