NFC South training camp one-liners

Falcons LB Curtis Lofton and CB Tony Tiller were held out of practices on Sunday.

Falcons DE John Abraham is trying to act as a mentor for rookie DT Peria Jerry.

WR Brian Finneran says that he’s willing to do whatever’s necessary for him to earn a spot on the Atlanta roster.

Although it is early in camp, QB Matt Ryan and TE Tony Gonzalez seem to be developing chemistry.

DE Julius Peppers didn’t speak to the media when he reported to Panthers camp.

Carolina QB Jake Delhomme did stop to let everyone know he’s excited for camp to start so the playoff loss to the Cardinals becomes a distant memory.

Panthers WR Steve Smith, on the other hand, isn’t that excited to return to the scene of his assault on former teammate Ken Lucas.

Carolina coach John Fox said he expects the team to scrimmage at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday. 

Saints LB Marvin Mitchell got the better of RB Reggie Bush during a pass-rushing drill at Saints practice.

Saints DT Kendrick Clancy missed a second straight practice on Sunday with back spasms, but the team hopes he’ll be back on the field on Monday.

The first few days of practice saw Saints CB Jason David flourishing in defensive coordinator Gregg Williams’ system.

The Buccaneers offense caught some hell from coach Raheem Morris near the end of Sunday’s practice.
