Bills, Maybin getting close

A league source tells us that the Buffalo Bills and defensive end Aaron Maybin, the eleventh overall pick in the 2009 draft, are getting close to an agreement.

As we understand it, a deal has not yet been reached, and the two sides have more work to do.

That said, significant progress has been made in the past couple of days, especially since things weren’t looking too promising as recently as Wednesday. So Maybin soon could be ending a holdout that began nearly four weeks ago, when the Bills became the first team to open training camp.

The other two remaining holdouts are Bengals tackle Andre Smith, the sixth overall pick in the draft, and 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree, the tenth overall selection.
