Adam Schefter had an active first week, to say the least, at ESPN.
Apart from the fact plenty of NFL-related developments came as the paint was drying on Schefter’s parking spot, Schefter drew the ire of Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who loudly disputed Schefter’s report that the Titans had placed a call to free-agent wideout Marvin Harrison.
“We’ve had no contact whatsoever with
Marvin or his agent and to be quite honest with you I don’t know where
Adam Schefter got that information,” Fisher said Wednesday.
As to the possibility that the Titans might call Harrison in the future, Fisher said, “You’ll have to just stay put and see what Adam says because he’s
got a better take on what we’re doing than we do.”
As it turns out, Fisher’s right. Because our own research tells us that, indeed, Schefter’s report was accurate — the Titans contacted Harrison.
Then again, we should have known that Fisher was fibbing. After all, he’s an NFL head coach.
And his lips were moving.
Meanwhile, Harrison continues to wait not only for a phone call, but also for a suitable offer.
