Browns bounce George Foster

The Cleveland Browns made a flurry of roster moves on Monday.

The biggest name involved was George Foster, a six-year veteran who started 45 games for the Broncos over three seasons, from 2004 through 2006. He was traded to Detroit along with running back Tatum Bell for cornerback Dre’ Bly during the 2007 offseason, where Foster was a member of the only 0-16 team in league history.

The Browns had signed Foster in June.

Also waived was tight end John Madsen. Defensive lineman Melila Purcell was waived/injured.

Joining the Browns are defensive back Tra Battle, offensive lineman Corey Hilliard, and tight end Nate Jackson.

Battle’s agent, David “ALL CAPS” Canter previously disclosed that Battle was poised to sign with the UFL. Before Battle could put pen to paper, he was called up to Cleveland.

Jackson spent six years with the Broncos, appearing in 41 games.
