Cowboys beat Pats to DeAngelo Willingham

Lost in a day involving a flurry of cuts and waivers and other roster moves is that the Patriots tried unsuccessfully to get their hands on defensive back DeAngelo Willingham.

Per a league source, the Patriots made a waiver claim for Willingham, who was dumped recently by the Bucs.

But the Cowboys made a claim, too.

And since they had priority, the Cowboys got him, as previously reported by Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

Willingham, who played college football at Tennessee, had been signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.

  1. who the fudge is this guy?
In 26 games in two years with the Vols he had three interceptions and eight pass deflections.
    Awesome!!!

  2. He would have become a serviceable player for the Pats, instead Wade Phillips (and the circus) will ruin him.
