After “sibling disputes” led to Panthers owner Jerry Richardson to push his sons out the franchise door Tuesday, Richardson moved quickly to start replacing them.
This time, he’s looking outside the family.
The Panthers hired Danny Morrison as team president Wednesday, replacing Mark Richardson. Morrison has previously served as the athletic director for Wofford College and Texas Christian. The Panthers traditionally hold their training camp at Wofford.
“We are very familiar with Danny and he is very familiar with our
organization,” Jerry Richardson said in the statement. “He has been
successful as a college administrator and commissioner and brings a
business expertise and sense of community that fits the position
To our knowledge, Morrison has not worked in the NFL previously.
