As folks in Philly celebrate their local NFL team’s season-opening win with a mug full of suds, they might soon be crying in their beer.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb suffered a broken rib when he was hit in the end zone after scoring a touchdown in Sunday’s 38-10 shellacking of the Carolina Panthers.
It’s not yet known whether McNabb will miss any time, or whether he’ll suck it up and play. (After all, it’s not like he has swine flu or polio. Or lupus.)
If he can’t go, Kevin Kolb will get the start next week, when the Saints come walking in loose single-file fashion to the Linc.
As of Week Three, Mike Vick can play. But Jay Glazer of FOX reported earlier today that Vick thinks he’s “several weeks away” from being back into top form.
