Texans fine Dunta for shoe message

On Sunday, Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson, who’s making only $9.957 million guaranteed this year, wore shoes that conveyed a message to G.M. Rick Smith.

The shoes displayed the words, “Pay me Rick.”

On Wednesday, Smith had a message for Robinson.

“Pay me. Rick.”

Despite indications that the Texans would not be fining Robinson, he told the Houston Chronicle that he has been fined for conduct detrimental to the team.

“I got here today, and it was in my locker,” Robinson said, adding that he won’t appeal the fine. “I knew it was coming because Rick told me [Monday] I was going to get fined. That’s okay. I’ve put it behind me. I’ve moved on. I’m focused on the Titans.”

Robinson likely will soon be getting another fine from the NFL, for the uniform violation resulting from the shoe message.
