Bernard Pollard finds a home

The man who ended Tom Brady’s season in 2008 will get to play football in 2009.

Former Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard signed with the Texans Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Pollard was also incidentally responsible for injuring Darren McFadden last year, giving him turf toe when he caught him from behind on a long run in Week Two.

It’s a little surprising Pollard stayed on the market so long considering his second round pedigree and experience as a starter in the league. Houston’s secondary coach David Gibbs coached him in Kansas City, so the move makes a lot of sense for a team with a shaky back end.

Pollard will likely get put to work right away on special teams.
