Sluggish Redskins are lucky to be down only by seven

As the Buccaneers-Redskins game moves toward halftime, the home team still trails, 7-0.

And it could be a lot worse.

The Bucs have failed to take advantage of other opportunities to score points, thanks to multiple turnovers from the ‘Skins.

Quarterback Jason Campbell, who last year didn’t throw an interception until November, has two to go along with the fumble that set up the only points of the game. (Campbell fumbled another time, but it was recovered by the Bucs.)

For the Bucs, cornerback Aqib Talib made both picks. Tampa also has sacked Campbell three times.

Complicating matters for the Redskins is that punter Hunter Smith is injured. Kicker Shaun Suisham has punted twice, for a 22-yard average.
