Darren McFadden to miss 2-4 weeks

One day after losing three yards on six carries, Raiders running back Darren McFadden found out he’s going to lose the next 2-4 weeks of the season with a torn right meniscus.

The news comes at a brutal time for the stagnant Oakland running game, which faces the Giants, Eagles, and Jets over the next three weeks.

Justin Fargas led the Raiders in carries against Houston Sunday, and figures to split the backfield work with Michael Bush. After an impressive opening game against San Diego, Oakland has averaged 69 yards per game as a team.

The running game was the one thing Oakland did well last year, and their struggles have some in Oakland wondering if they took the running game for granted.

McFadden came into the season with high hopes after turf toe slowed him down as a rookie, but he only put up 198 yards from scrimmage in four games, including a surprising lack of involvement in the passing game.
