Eli skips practice due to bad foot

On Sunday, live from New York, it could be “The Battle of the Busts.”

Giants quarterback Eli Manning missed practice on Wednesday due to a previously undisclosed case of plantar fasciitis that flared up during Sunday’s win over the Chiefs and knocked him out of the game.

Manning took treatment on the injured foot instead.

“They think it would be much better off if they were treating him during the course of practice,” Coughlin said. “So he’ll stay inside.”

And so, if Manning ultimately can’t play, the Giants will be led by the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, quarterback David Carr.

For the Raiders, 2007 No. 1 overall pick and budding mega-bust JaMarcus Russell will take the snaps.

If he bothers to show up for the plane flight from Oakland.
