Portis, Haynesworth starting on Monday night

Redskins stars Clinton Portis and Albert Haynesworth were listed as questionable for Monday night’s game, but it’s no surprise they are in the starting lineup.

The faces of the franchise will get a chance to shine in what amounts to Washington’s Super Bowl.  Lose, and the rest of the team’s games this season won’t be relevant except to monitor the drama surrounding head coach Jim Zorn.

Washington’s inactives for the game include Kevin Barnes, Quinton Ganther,  Robert Henson,Chris
Samuels, Chad Rinehart,  Marko Mitchell, Anthony Montgomery,
and Renaldo Wynn.

For the Eagles, Kevin Kolb was listed as the team’s emergency quarterback.  Michael Vick will be the backup, although Kolb would almost certainly get the call if Donovan McNabb was seriously hurt.  Also inactive for Philadelphia: Kevin Curtis, Dimitri Patterson, Joe Mays,
Max Jean-Gilles, Mike McGlynn, Omar Gaither, and Victor

Will Witherspoon will start at middle linebacker in his first game as an Eagle.

  1. It’s funny that Haynesworth deal looks better for Washington, than the Cutler does for Chicago.. At east Washington’s incompetence will yield a higher draft pick next year. Ironically The draft pick that got Washington their Crappy QB was traded to them for the one the Broncos manipulated to get Chicago’s crappy QB.

  2. Sad that Rhinehart cant crack the lineup with Samuels and Thomas out. Wait sad would be an upgrade, this is just downright pathetic. 3rd round draft pick of Vinny Cerrato 2 years ago.
Meanwhile down in New Orleans, a guy who played college ball 30 miles from DC is starting and fairing well at left tackle in Jermon Bushrod.

  3. What a freaking joke the Redskins have become. Owner sucks, coach sucks. players suck. OMG, how far the proud have fallen. Good pick Mike.
