It’s amazing what beating a hapless Raiders team can do to restore the roar of Rex Ryan and his band of pro-wrassler.
Though Ryan hasn’t been pounding his chest this week (then again, there’s two days until kickoff), guys like safety Kerry Rhodes and defensive end Shaun Ellis have been chirping about the Dolphins.
Rhodes complained that the Dolphins acted like they had won the Super Bowl when beating the Jets earlier this month; as a reader has pointed out, the Jets behaved the same way after beating the Patriots in September.
Now, linebacker Bart Scott — whose “mad backer” moniker would be a great WWE name — has declared that he hopes to injure Miami quarterback Chad Henne on Sunday.
“I hope to get him out of there,” Scott said Thursday, per Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News.
So does that mean what it appears to mean, that Scott hopes to hurt Henne? “I want to hit him
and get him out of there,” Scott said. “That’s for anybody who touches the football,
period. It’s that type of game. Write it down however you want to write
it down. You don’t have to do something dirty to get somebody out of
there.”
Though these words likely won’t prompt a pregame warning letter from the league office, the men in stripes might be watching Scott a little bit closer when he’s in the vicinity of Henne’s knees or noggin.
