Break up the Bucs!

Early in Sunday’s revival of “The Bay of Pigs,” it looked like it could be a good game. The score was knotted at 14, and there was a vague sense that maybe the Bucs could get their first win since December 2008.

The game seemed to be over when a 12-yard touchdown run from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers pushed the lead to 28-17.

Since then, however, the Bucs have scored two more touchdowns on passes from rookie Josh Freeman. The two-point try failed on the first one and succeeded on the second, giving Tampa a 31-28 lead.

The Packers failed to get a first down on their next drive, forcing a punt with 2:05 to play. Clifton Smith returned the ball to the Green Bay 40.

Coupled with a sweep of the Packers by Brett Favre, a loss to the woeful Bucs could be enough to spark loud calls in the vicinity of Lambeau Field for a new General Manager and a new head coach.
