Seahawks-Lions one-liners

Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck banged his right (throwing) shoulder in Sunday’s 32-20 win over Detroit, but rattled off 15 straight completions after the scare and finished with a season-high 51 pass attempts.

Seattle used a decidedly pass-heavy offense to defeat the now 1-7 Lions, and plan to continue the approach going forward.

Despite last week’s release of Edgerrin James, Seahawks RBs Justin Forsett and Louis Rankin did not see substantial workloads behind starter Julius Jones on Sunday.

In another sign that coach Jim Mora is emphasizing the pass despite offensive coordinator Greg Knapp’s run-oriented history, the Seahawks started Sunday’s game in a three-receiver set and stayed in three-wide looks for much of the game.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz doesn’t believe that Calvin Johnson’s disappointing return to the lineup (two catches, 27 yards) was caused by the wide receiver’s lingering knee injury.

The Lions used rookie Derrick Williams as their No. 3 receiver Sunday, replacing usual slot man Dennis Northcutt.

Lions rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew enjoyed the most productive game of his career at Seattle, racking up 70 yards and a first-quarter touchdown on seven catches.

Rookie QB Matthew Stafford threw five interceptions in the defeat; his fifth was returned 61 yards for a touchdown by Seahawks CB Josh Wilson.
