NFL moves Bears-Vikings game to 4:15 p.m. ET

Though the first weekend of the annual flex scheduling package won’t be resulting the Eagles-Bears game being bounced out of prime time, a shift has been made for the following weekend.

Also involving the Bears.

Their Week Twelve visit to the Twin Cities has been moved from 1:00 p.m. ET to 4:15 p.m. ET in order “to accommodate broadcast patterns.”

The reason for the accommodation is obvious; based on the official schedule available at NFL.com, no game was previously scheduled to commence at 4:15 p.m. ET.

So the next three Chicago games will feature high exposure.  Tomorrow night, they travel the San Francisco.  Ten days later, the Eagles — and NBC — come to town.  Then, the late game on the last day of Thanksgiving weekend will carry into prime time on FOX.

Hopefully for Bears fans, the team will do something to merit the extra attention.

  1. Does not matter this team’s season is far from over. As ESPN John Clayton put it “the bears are on of the worst teams in the nfl.:
so much for all of the preseason hype from all you bear fans…makes me smile and laugh now….more laughing tho…much more

You mean other than lose three straight, right?
Yeah, I wouldn’t count on it.

  3. Since when does a midweek game against an underachieving 49ers team on a network nobody watches count as “high exposure?”
More people are going to see the Orlando Tuskers play the Bay Area Redwoods than this game.

  4. As a bears fan, can we please just move all of their games to the early game, so only Chicago has to watch them and all of their ineptness, while they get blown out by teams that are actually competent.

It’ll probably be more like a scrimage for the tuskers, lets be honest. They’re rocking the party this year.
and if charter communications would get its head out of its ass and add NFL network, I’d watch the game, what else is on thursdays? Hell, I’d watch the rams play the buccaneers.
