Saints-Rams one-liners

Saints QB Drew Brees said that the team isn’t content with the way they played en route to a 28-23 victory over the Rams.

Usama Young, starting at free safety for the Saints for the first time, intercepted a pass in the end zone.

After allowing him 100 yards in the first half, the Saints held Rams RB Steven Jackson to only 31 on 13 second-half carries.

Saints RB Reggie Bush scored a touchdown on the ground in the first quarter and added a scoring reception later in the game.

Saints KR Courtney Roby broke a halftime tie by taking the opening kickoff of the second half for a 97-yard touchdown.

Jackson moved into third-place on the Rams all-time rushing list with a seven-yard run in the third quarter.

Rams WR Brandon Gibson had seven catches for 93 yards, stepping up after Keenan Burton left the game with a knee injury.

TE Daniel Fells couldn’t hold onto the ball on a two-point conversion that could have given the Rams a chance to tie the score on the last play of the game.

Rams DE Chris Long picked up his second sack of the season.

Said Rams C Jason Brown, “That’s all we can ask for, to have a hard-fought game and be in a winnable situation in the last two minutes. Going up against a great opponent like we did today, that’s all we can ask for. And, no one can walk out of this locker room with their heads down.”
