Ferguson headed to injured reserve

PFT mentioned Sunday morning that the Dolphins were bracing themselves to lose nose tackle Jason Ferguson for the season.

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano confirmed the news Monday, saying Ferguson would not be back with the team this season. He’s expected to be placed on injured reserve.

Tony McDaniel, starting defensive end Randy Starks, and recuperating tackle Paul Soliai will fill in Ferguson’s spot. Miami’s rush defense has been a strength this season and will be tested now.

The Dolphins face Buffalo this week with the chance to move above .500 for the first time all season and set up a potential battle for first place in the AFC East in Miami in Week Thirteen.
