Hassan Jones pleads no contest to attacking daughter

Former Vikings receiver Hassan Jones pleaded no contest to aggravated assault in an incident in which he was accused of attacking his daughter, the St. Petersburg Times is reporting.

Jones agreed to probation and anger management counseling, the Times reports.

Jones was charged in July with dragging his daughter on concrete and grabbing her by the throat, and with threatening both his wife and his daughter with a golf club.

Defense attorney Douglas Prior said, “It was an unfortunate situation that everyone involved wishes never happened.”

Jones spent seven years with the Vikings (1986-92) and one with the Chiefs (1993). He pleaded no contest to a charge of domestic battery in 1996, and he was charged with drunk driving in 2006.
