Report: Sanchez has a PCL sprain

Five days ago, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez suffered a left knee injury while being tackled.

Last night, he injured his right knee while diving forward against the Bills, contradicting the efforts of head coach Rex Ryan to teach Sanchez how to slide.

Sanchez banged his previously healthy knee on the ground, and Adam Schefter of ESPN now reports that Sanchez has a sprained PCL.

Per Schefter, Sanchez will be available to play on December 13 at Tampa, if he can tolerate the pain.

The degree of the sprain isn’t known. It’s not uncommon for players to perform with injured PCLs, since the ligament isn’t as critical to the operation of the joint as the ACL and the MCL.

And if Sanchez doesn’t start sliding, Ryan could injure his own knee while swinging a foot toward Sanchez’s ass.
