DeSean Jackson expected to return next week

The Eagles are enjoying quite a Sunday.

Philadelphia essentially knocked Atlanta out of the Wild Card race, then moved into a tie for the NFC East lead when the Cowboys lost to the Giants.

Now their chances of having another good Sunday next week have improved with the news that DeSean Jackson is expected to return to the lineup against the Giants.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer has the news on Twitter, crediting a team source.

Brian Westbrook’s status remains in serious doubt, but a healthy DeSean Jackson would make life a lot more difficult for the struggling Giants secondary.

  1. The Eagles will also have Josilio Hanson and should have Desean Jackson, Jason Peters and Akeem Jordan back next week. Its also possible that Westbrook could be back.
Even though it has been hard for the Eagles with all these injuries they have weathered the storm and won 3 straight and now are getting healthy at the right time.
Also it seems like Reggie Brown and Mike Vick are starting to come on. Kevin Curtis has over 6 weeks of rehab since microscopic knee surgery which was supposedly minor so he should be back before the playoffs start. Then you add in how Jason Avant, Sean Jones, and Leonard Weaver have played lately and this team should be pretty formiable down the home strech of the regular season and hopefully the playoffs.

  2. @Route36West,
I hear you loud and clear…now if only the Flyers had as much luck!
I would very much like to see Westy back, but I think this season has really placed the spotlight on concussions and his season may be over! Hopefully not his career, but I think it’s safe to assume he is done for the year.
Let Vick score more mop-up TD’s as it will boost his trade value next season!!

  3. Westbrook is done. It’s not because I am a Redskins fan but because his head is not holding up like it should. It happened to Aikman, Young and Humphries where they get hit and automatically get a concussion.
Hopefully Desean will get over this fast for your sakes. I need to Iggles to beat out the Cowbums for the division!!

  4. I give them so much credit overcoming all the injuries they have. They have an excellent chance at finishing at 12-4, 11-5, but they have no shot against the Vikings, Cardinals or most of all the Saints.

  5. “they have no shot against the Vikings, Cardinals or most of all the Saints.”
raiders had no chance and beat the eagles
raiders had no chance and beat the steelers
the giants should have had no shot against the cowboys…
every week there are a couple of games won by the team with no chance.
and once in the playoffs, all odds are out the window.
    on any given sunday…
