A $30,000 fine is not going to discourage Chad Ochocinco from telegraphing his next prop celebration.
For the Bengals receiver’s next act, he plans to swipe the horn of “Ragnar” the Viking — the mascot in Minnesota.
Ochocinco first brought up the idea Tuesday night in a tweet to Adam Schefter, then mentioned it again in his conference call with Minnesota reporters.
“I’m going to have some purple fun. I’m going to steal [the horn] from what’s his name? Ragnar. . . . [Ragnar] better give it to me or I’m going to MMA him. Why you laughing? I’m serious. I’m dead serious,” Ochocinco said, as transcribed by Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Purple fun could include Ragnar’s motorcycle, which Ochocinco says he may try to ride despite not having a license.
“Maybe they can include that in the fine.”
We suspect Ochocinco won’t get his hands on any Ragnar props, but his disregard for the NFL’s policies presents a problem for the league and its fine system. Mike Florio will address the issue later Wednesday in a PFTV segment.
In the meantime, we’ll wonder if OCNN unwittingly broke more news Wednesday.
Ochocinco was upset that he couldn’t face cornerback Antoine Winfield this week, who he called the most “complete corner” in football.
Winfield’s status for Sunday is supposed to be up in the air.
