Steve Slaton out for season

Houston Texans running back Steve Slaton’s season is over.

Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted that Slaton is going on injured reserve.

Slaton was inactive Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a neck injury that caused him numbness in his arms, and that injury has apparently been deemed serious enough that he can’t return to the field until 2010.

After a very promising rookie year in 2008, Slaton was a disappointment in 2009. He carried 131 times for just 437 yards, and although he was an important part of the Texans’ passing game, with 44 catches for 417 yards, he also hurt the team with seven fumbles.
