Freeney questionable for Thursday night

With mixed signals coming from the Colts regarding whether they’ll continue to play hard even though there’s no reason to continue to do so, there’s one player who likely won’t be playing when the Colts face the Jaguars on Thursday night.

Defensive end Dwight Freeney, who has a lingering abdomen injury (we’ve heard it’s a strained oblique), hasn’t practiced all week, and he’s listed as questionable.

So it’s likely safe to assume that Freeney won’t be participating in a meaningless game.

As for the rest of the Colts, the players who are out have missed plenty of time already, including running back Donald Brown (chest), defensive back Aaron Francisco (ankle), receiver Anthony Gonzalez (knee), and kicker Adam Vinatieri (knee).

Three other Colts are questionable, including tackle Charlie Johnson (foot), defensive end Robert Mathis (quad), defensive tackle Eric Foster (back). A whopping 20 Colts are probable, which technically means that they remain virtually certain to be available for normal duty.

For the Jaguars, fullback Greg Jones (ankle) is out, linebacker Clint Ingram (shoulder) is doubtful, cornerback Rashean Mathis (groin) is questionable, and several players are probable, including receiver Mike Sims-Walker (calf) and running back Maurice Jones-Drew (knee).
