DeMarcus Ware will play Saturday night

The Cowboys will have their best player available for their latest biggest game of the season.

Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News reports that DeMarcus Ware will play against the Saints. His status is a slight surprise after he missed practice all week with a neck injury.

Ware reportedly passed all the strength tests necessary given to him after he sprained his neck and was carted off the field during last week’s loss to San Diego.

We’ll update you on the complete inactives list, which should be available soon.

UPDATE: Wade Phillips confirmed Ware will be active. NFL Network’s Alex Flanagan indicated Ware may share snaps with backup Victor Butler.

  1. it’s good to see he’s able to play but really dumb on the league for allowing him too.. the man was carried off on a stretcher last week.. Westbrook was at least able to walk off on his own power after his concussion.. this league is ridiculous sometimes..

  2. I told you Thursday, I told him, “you’re going to play,” so he is. Why the post now? Old news Gregg.

  3. Akshun every situation is different. It was easy to see that they put him on a stretcher for precautionary reasons. He doesn’t have a concussion, so what does Westbrook have to do with this?
The guy is a competitor and wants to play. It was simply a neck sprain, he already had tests, MRI’s, etc. They told him there is no chance for further damage by playing. Savvy?

  4. awesome…now lets eat some craw-dads and get this team rolling into the playoffs…..This is the game that will propel us to win the division and make a run for the SB.
