Former NFL player Gerald Perry injured in shooting

Gerald Perry, a former Broncos, Rams and Raiders defensive lineman, was injured in a shooting outside a Georgia car wash on Monday.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Perry was sitting in a car when he was shot and that he’s in moderate condition in a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Perry was “an innocent party.”

The person who shot Perry apparently fled by car.

Perry played college football at Southern University and later played for the Denver Broncos from 1988 to 1990, for the Los Angeles Rams from 1991 to 1992 and for the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders from 1993 to 1995.
