Maroney among Patriots-Texans inactives

When we last heard about the New England Patriots’ plans for today’s game against the Houston Texans, running back Laurence Maroney was listed as probable.

But as it turns out, Maroney is inactive for today’s game.

The Patriots’ other inactives are cornerbacks Terrence Wheatley and Leigh Bodden, running back Kevin Faulk, offensive linemen Rich Ohrnberger and Ryan Wendell and defensive linemen Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren.

The Texans’ inactives are third quarterback Dan Orlovsky, wide receiver Glenn Martinez, running back Chris Henry, cornerback Mark Parson, guard Tutan Reyes, tackle Ephraim Salaam, defensive end Tim Jamison and defensive tackle Frank Okam.

  1. Maroney should not be allowed to carry the football in the Red Zone. No matter how they got there.
Patriots play the game to win.

  2. I would not shed a tear if NE released Maroney in the offseason. Too many mistakes, too much dancing behind the line, not enough production for a 1st round pick. I long for the days of Corey Dillon.
