Rams fans hurt in fall from stands

Two fans in St. Louis were hurt after Sunday’s Rams game when they fell from the stands.

The Associated Press reports that an unnamed player tossed a shoe toward the crowd in an effort to give fans a souvenir, and the two fans were injured falling while trying to reach for it.

One fan was carried out of the Edward Jones Dome strapped to a gurney and was taken to a local hospital, but coach Steve Spagnuolo said after the game that he was told the fans were not seriously injured.

It’s not unusual for players to toss equipment into the crowd after games, but after this incident the always cautious league office may ask players to hand -- not throw -- souvenirs to fans.
