Ryan says it’s “too early to tell” if Harris will play

The guy whose name Cedric Benson doesn’t know might not get a chance to get better acquainted with the Bengals tailback on Saturday; Jets coach Rex Ryan said Tuesday that it’s “too early to tell” whether linebacker David Harris will play in the wild-card game with a high ankle sprain.

Also missing practice was punter Steve Weatherford (hamstring). Running back Thomas Jones and fullback Tony Richardson didn’t practice, but not due to injury.

Receiver Jerricho Cotchery (hip), defensive end Shaun Ellis (knee), linebacker Ryan Fowler (head), and cornerback Donald Strickland (quad) participated on a limited basis.

Full participants in practice included receiver Braylon Edwards (elbow), quarterback Mark Sanchez (knee), and defensive back James Ihedigbo (stinger).

The Jets face the Bengals on Saturday afternoon, at Paul Brown Stadium.
